Now - I know that many bloggers out there blog about family and what it means to them. Well, I am no different.
Yesterday evening, my aunt and uncle were supposed to overnight with me. They are on an extended road trip from Colorado to San Diego by way of places like Mount Rushmore, Puyallup, WA, Eugene, OR, San Francisco, CA, LA and finally San Diego. They are having a great time because I got a phone call last night informing me that they're a bit behind schedule and won't be to Eugene until the next morning. They were true to their word and arrived at my house around 10 am. I had a great time showing my house off and catching up with them - in addition to not having to go to work in the morning.
This is the first of my family outside of my parents to come and visit me in my new home. I hope more of my aunts and uncles and cousins will follow suit. Having grown up an Army brat, we never lived close to immediate family. I was always somewhat jealous of my cousins who grew up with each other and in the same town as my grandparents and I don't feel like I know my cousins very well, but I'm slowly starting to get to know them better - especially the ones who have settled out on the West Coast. I am looking forward to many fun weekends spend driving up to Portland or Puyallup and having those cousins come down here.
